coolant change, Ford Gold or CAT ELC
I have 62k on my truck now and figured it was time to get some new coolant in there. I am going to be doing a Dieselsite coolant filter at the same time. My question is what type of coolant should I put back in? I have heard good things about the cat elc, but am unsure none the less. Thanks so much. This place is a great resource for info.

I am in the same situation only I have 46K on mine. I already have my DS kit just waiting on my EGR delete kit to arrive so I can do both at the same time.

I just completed replacing my oil cooler and doing a egr delete, I used the CAT ELC because it is silica free and the silica in the Ford Gold Coolant is what is plugging up the oil and egr coolers in these engines. I have done a lot of research on the 6.0 and 6.4 and in my opinion the ELC is the only way to go.
Hope this helps out. |
