7/20/07 build date, Job 1 or Job 2?

I am looking at a truck that has a build date of 7/20/2007. Can anyone say for sure if this is a Job 1 or Job 2 truck? I know the cut off is suppose to be 8/07. The reason I question it is because it has a Job 2 style window sticker. If you look at a Job 1 window sticker and a Job 2 window sticker there is an obvious difference in style and layout. Does the Job 2 style window sticker mean the rest of the truck is also a Job 2? I would really feel better knowing I was buying a Job 2 tranny. I have attached the window sticker for the truck and a Job 1 window sticker to compare it to.

Well my job 2 trucks window sticker looks like what you list as a job 1 sticker. Crawl under the truck and look for an external trans filter, if you have one then job 1 ,if not job 2. (Someone please chime in on this if I'm wrong).

Thanks for the reply. What is the build date of your truck? I wish I could look at the truck in person, but it is 8 hours away and if I buy it I will be flying down to pick it up.

I was told to look at the air dam under the front bumper. The short one is job1, long on is job 2??? You may check that.......

Dang, I was afraid it was a job 1. It does look like it has the short air dam, but the pics aren't the best so it is hard to tell for sure. Oh well, it is cheap enough that I will probably still buy it to get by until I can find a good deal on a 2009-11. Thanks guys.

My build date is in August 2007 (first month for job 2) , but has the longer air dam and no external trans filter so I'm pretty sure I got lucky and stumbled into a job 2. But the window sticker does look like what you posted as job 1 sticker.

hey guys. have a 97 7.3 but am looking at upgrading to a 6.4. can you please explain difference in job 1 and job 2? problems with either? i see the build dates but would like any other info please.

The Job 1 issues are over hyped in my opinion. Supposedly there was a bad batch of injectors but mine has 100K with no problems. Whereas my old man's Job 3 did have an injector failure.

You could have a problem with any 6.4L, I'm not convinced the Job 1s are any worse than the other models.
