6.4 or 6.7?

I know a person who has a 08 6.4 F250 King Ranch that he might get rid of and I could probably get a darn good deal on it or should I go on and get a new 6.7?

IF IT WAS ME.........i would always go newer if i was able to do it....love my 08 but i would continue to upgrade myself...sync, blk leather, hot/cold seats. i would however like to get the 6.7 after Ford has used it for 2-3 yrs first

The 6.7 is a totally different animal. If my '09 didn't have just over 20,000 miles on it, I know what I'd get! I tire kicked an F350 6.7 KR SRW a couple weeks ago and I was really impressed with it. The engine and transmission are amazing. Spools up much quicker and gets the power to the ground faster than my '09. The interiors are a little different but I like the '11 more even though the blinker is kind of funky. It doesn't click into an up or down position like every other vehicle I've owned. Just takes time getting used to I'm sure. Really like the center console more on the '11 though as well as the cooled seats. Also like the driver information center that's all digital on the '11 and has a lot of heads up display on it too. I'd go tire kick/test drive/see a 2011 6.7 as there are definitely some noticeable changes between the two trucks.

It all comes down to how much you're willing to spend, what the deal on the 6.4 is like, which interior you like better, and the availability of the 2011. My dealership only had on black KR that was a full load with nav and there aren't anymore coming in because the black paint pigment is from Japan and the nav system is Sony, made in Japan. If black and navigation are the options you want, it may be difficult to find. I don't have any concerns over buying a 6.7 regardless of it being a new powertrain and not mass tested.

a stock 6.7 vs stock 6.4 the 6.7 wins hands down. the 6.4 motor is a little sluggish in stock form, but after programmer it is a totally different animal. the only thing i see is the 6.7 with programmer and dpf delete could get close to 20+ mpgs. the 6.4 will never see that kind of mileage, the motor just wont do it, itll get high teens but not what the 6.7 will do.

forgot to add that the 6.4 w/ programmer will SMOKE a 6.7. just depends on what you wana spend.....

10-4 TO THE SMOKING, ONE OF THE REASONS I KEPT MY 6.4, after i programmed it , its a beast. my duramax buddies love to talk, but when ever i try to get them to line em up they get real quiet. im also not fond of the 2011 exterior changes,i hear they cant run 35's in stock form...i just wanted the sync and a few other things......i dont pay for fuel......so the 6.4 works for me

In my opinion, it's over-rated. Either that, or it's over-engineered and too complicated for a tech geek like myself to use. Whenever I use it, it always indexes my iPod and no commands or music can be said/played. This lasts about 10 minutes. Then, after it finishes indexing the music and saying whatever is missing, (some track names, artist data, etc), it goes into this speech command thing and no music or commands via Sync work. I eventually get so frustrated that I just listen to Serius radio or the radio. Sync isn't all it's cracked up to be. Half the time, it does different commands than what I tell it to do. Other times, it is bang on and I love it as it all works correctly. However, it is the best handsfree system I've used thus far. BMW and Infiniti both do the same BS but seem to have way more off days than on days.
