My F450 MPG

I took the truck from Lawton OK to Edmond OK yesterday. Round trip was about 190 miles and about half of that was spent doing around 75 with CC on. THe rest was a mix of 45 to 65. After doing the math by hand I got 13.1 MPG average for the trip. Trucks comp said I was only averaging 9.5mpg. So I am happy with that.

Thats not bad. Should get better when you put 22.5's on.

THats a long ways off. Right now I am just going up in tire size to 245's instead of the 225's that are on it.

Bigger tires willl get you worse mileage. And they are wider too.

These trucks are so low geared from the factory that going up in tire size has the opposite affect. My gear ratio with 245 will be somewhere around 4.10'ish. As for wider, its less then half an inch so I am not to worried.

No didnt win the lotto. Took a lot of planing ahead for.

This is entirely dependent on gearing and driving style.

For example I gained MPG going to a 35 inch tall tire.
