I was looking at rotella or motorcraft oil at wallmart .i need to change my oil

Amsoil 15-40 diesel in all 3 of my trucks.

Damn. I just don't understand why people use that oil. Cost way too much and if you change it every 5k miles you might as well use 15W-40 oil.

But I use Rotella 15w-40 oil and motorcraft filter. It cost me about 60 bucks to do my change.

Amsoil 5w-40 all year change every 10k miles !!!

I've been running the Rotella T6 full synthetic for a while now. However, I'm tired of spending so much on oil changes. Next change I am running the regular Motorcraft 15w/40, mainly because it summer and there won't be any cold starts for a while. I often take UOA's, so I'll monitor how the engine likes the regular oil.
