Factory tint on front windows.

What % tint did ford offer from the factory on the front windows? Here in CA its ilegal to have tint on the front windows unless it came from the factory. So I want "factory tint" installed. Thanks

probably around 35% is as dark as you can go legally

the factory tint is on the outside of the glass...i was cutting metal or welding...prolly cutting and shrapnel was hitting the driver window glass...now i have tiny pock marks...

well i think my factory tint is ..tinted glass...not vinyl overlay....dont know about any factory tint for the fronts.......cali sucks man

Did ford offer factory tinted front windows? I have never seen this. I thought that automakers were only allowed to tint the back glass, and only to 20%.

Is your truck registered in CA? Since you are military, you can keep your truck registered in your home state. I think you can follow the rules of your state. Not a 100% sure on that one. I'm sure a CHP or local LEO would tell you different. But it might be something to look into.

bought my truck as first owner brand new...an xlt...i just assumed it came from factory like that [tinted]...maybe it was a dealer add on....maybe the pocks will come off if the tint is integral in the glass.... which would be good...but am scared to mess with it incase i make things worse.

For has never put any tint on their front windows (windshield, and both front windows) the rear windows are similar to a 25% tint, but most states have a 35% as a law. I run 35% on my front windows (excl windshield) and 25% on the rear 3 to match what came factory on all other vehicles.

Well I had to register my truck here in CA because of where I got my loan from . I have since refinanced and come November I will register it back in TX !

According to CHP it doesnt matter what state you are registered in. If you cross the state line and drive in Ca you must comply with Ca law. No offense to the West Coast Powerstrokes but I feel sorry for guys having to deal with this BS. This state has some jacked up laws.

I just put 20% on my front windows to match the back tinted from the factory. Matches perfectly
