What do y'all think of 08 6.4? only 5k on it

My neighbor just bought one. Elderly couple owned it as a 3rd vehical. are there inherent issues with this motor as with the 6.0?

I have 2 7.3's and love them.

just a general question out of concern for him.

thanks

what is the build date of the truck? The Job 1 and a few job 2 trucks had an occasional injector issue, and radiator issues. Most of those issues should have been fixed by now though since the truck is a few years old. My only concern with an 08 truck with 5k miles on it is how much the truck sat? Was there times that it wasnt driven for months? I would go through and change out all fluids on the truck and check any belts for dry rot. Otherwise it should be a good solid truck

As mentioned, other then the radiator issues and injectors on some early builds, these engines are pretty solid. The only negative these days has to do with emissions components.

International redesigned and built this engine to address allot of the warranty issues that the 6.0 had so they are plenty strong and powerful. Unfortunately, Ford had decided it was going to build it's own engine and opt-out of the contract with International (you can Google all about it).

I bought an 08 f250 job 1 (didn't know the difference at the time) last nov. with 33000 miles on it. It has 42000 and some change now with , knock on wood , no problems at all. Seems to be a good and solid truck. Like any other ford. Good luck to your friend.
