My wife will be going to personally check out a potential F-450 for us ( link at bottom) in Sulphur Springs TX. My wife and I were hoping that some one mechanically inclined and well versed in the 08-10 superduties could meet with her and look the truck over mechanically on my behalf. If anyone is available and would like to offer a deployed soldier (trying to play that Patriotic Card ) this favor I would be in your dept.

Do you know the build date of the truck?

Have you pull an oasis report. with it only having 40k and being an 08 any work should have been done under warranty. that should give you an idea of the truck and check the car fax and see where it came from as well.
