Are you talking about the fender vents or the air vents on the dash?

Bet he is talking about the fender vents as he wants to paint them, either push out from inside engine compartment orpry them out from the front but be careful not to chip your pain, what ever your prying them out with back the fender side with something that will not dent/chip your paint, to tell you the truth, just open up your hood and squeeze you hand down in there and push them out.

I got mine off by pulling on the bottom of the top piece first. Got the top badge piece off first and then pulled on the big vent part itself. No tools needed.

I pushed mine through from the inside its easy to get your hand in there and then you don't have to worry about breaking them.
