Tranny Type
Guys, Howdie? My first post on this site!! How do I determine the tranny type (ie: Torqueshift) in my 08' F350 6.4L Turbo Diesel 5-spd Autotrans?

I believe they are called a 5r110. 5 speed auto.

you are correct oregon stroker but, If you look at you VIN sticker inside driver side door there is a code at the bottom right hand part of the sticker that reads TR if it has a B under it then you have the torqshift.

Thanks, it's a Torqueshift. What is the prefered (Mercon SP) ATF brand you guys suggest?

i will be changing my tranny fluid in a couple of weeks. I will be using the motorcraft LV

Someone did a nice write up on a drive way tranny flush, but I can't seem to find it. Any one remember the link? Beats taking it to the dealer and taking it in the a** for something you can do yourself.

08 should actually say Mercon LV on the dipstick. That's what I run in my 06. it's backwards compatable with SP in the 5R110 torqshift
