egr busted

So ive had my 08 job 1 since semptember of 10. Absolutely love it, especially since the basic mods have been done to it. The day before I was supposed to leave on a 4 hour trip for the weekend I was washing the truck at work and noticed a small 5" diameter spot on the pavement. Investigated a little and thought it might have been break fluid, felt oily but was basically clear from what I could tell. So the morning of the trip, brought it to my mechanic/ fabricator... We get under the truck, sure enough its a crack in one of the welds on the egr cooler, almost right where it connects to the header. After a few minutes of looking around, out came the tools, a secton of 1" heater hose a section of 3/4" heater hose, an adapter to connect them. After gathering all the parts, the coolant was bypassed from the coolers within 30 minutes and less than 100 in parts and labor . So I guess the wastegate is going to come sooner then expected. But for anyones info, if your cooler goes, it can be fixed quickly if needed!

Did you also block the exhaust gas from flowing through the EGR cooler to the EGR valve?

no, egr valve is shut off with the tune but, just bypassed the coolant from them due to the leaking. No problems so far with about 1000 miles on it since this just past friday. Been watching all temps on the DashDaq with no changes or abnormalities
