4" exhaust tip

I just received my tuner and exhaust for my truck and I noticed that it didnt come with a tip. With the recent post about the guy near seattle getting a fine for removing emissions its made me a tad leary.

Does anyone have a site that is selling an exhaust tip for a 4" pipe that looks like the stock tip? Obviously it will be a tad bigger then stock but at a glance driving by it would look stock. I know for me when I see newer Fords my eyes go right to the tail pipe as thats a pretty good indicator if the truck is tuned or not. Thanks in advance.

I haven't seen a stock looking aftermarket tip yet. The stock tip is designed to help cool the 1800 degree temps that come with regen. Your best bet would be to cut the stock tip just at were it splits into two seperate tips and weld in the 4inch pipe there.

I agree with Antonm , Go to a good muffler shop and let them weld the factory tip on your new exhaust. I did only a delete pipe instead of a full exhaust because My truck has the chrome pkg. which has the chrome factory tips , I wanted to keep it looking stock as possible

I am on the fence on what I want to do. I found a used DPF that I thought about buying and just hollowing it out. A couple guys I have talked to said they are pretty easy to hollow out.

Its just hard to say what would be the best route to go.

I live in Washington state. We don't have visual inspections for emissions that I know of. I just recently got this I used to have a 7.3. It wouldn't suprise me for the state to start inspecting and handing out tickets since they doing whatever they can to balance the budget. That and the claims made in the recent post about the guy getting a $2500 ticket for removing his dpf have made me more cautious.
