Questions on the 6.4's???

So I am new on here, and currently have an 06 Dodge 3500. I've been thinking about selling it off and picking up a newer truck. I have been looking at some duramax's because of efi live and how well the these trucks run with that tuner. From what I've read on this forum, it seems like the spartan is the way to go with these 6.4's. My question is how are you guys liking these trucks? I'm looking for something that can pull heavy and still be a good daily driver. Transmission kits from suncoast look to be pretty reasonably priced compared to the dodge kits. Also, how much on average does it take to do all the emission deletes on these things? I would like to build a truck around 500 horse or a little more. Are there any good turbo's that make these things run even better?? Thanks for all the help guys.
