'09 F250 Replacement Backup Camera

I recently purchased an '09 F250 CC LB KR that I absolutely love. It has the factory nav system and back-up camera. When I test drove it at dealership it was pouring down rain...long story short what I thought was condensation on the camera from the rain apparently is a faulty camera. It is extremely cloudy, you can wave your hand in front of it and detect the change in light, but not an image. I'm looking for a replacement camera, dealership wants $370bucks, found OEM online for $270, wondering if anyone has had any afternmarket success??
The dealership I purchased from is 4 hours away, and with 45K miles, warranty is up. Shame on me for not thoroughly investigating prior to leaving the lot, but what can I say...I was a bit excited.

Thanks
Jason

Have you at least tried contacting the stealership? Sometimes they play nice and may at least work with you on a price?

Just a thought, good luck.

Carcrazy,

Did you ever find the cameras removed from the handle? I have the same issue with my 08. It appears the camera when out at about 42k miles.

Thanks

Just an FYI, I was able to fix mine. I worked a couple toothpicks in the back between the rubber and the housing and put it in a bowl of rice with a lid for a few weeks. Took it out and all was good. I put some grease around the rubber to keep any water from working it's way in and I didn't want to silicone it. So far so good and it's been a few months.
