XL vs Lariat Cab Noise?

My company truck was in the shop this week so I used one of our construction guy's truck. It's an F-250 6.4L XL. Are the cabs built different on the work package trucks than on the higher up models? Either the cab on the XL package doesn't muffle the sound as good or the engine is louder. It felt like I was riding in my buddies 6.0. I could hear a clatter that I don't normally hear in my truck. I also find my truck gets up a little quicker.

The Lariat and KR models probably have more sound dampening material in/around the cab, I know the fender liners on mine are lined with felt for noise reduction.

My xlt has almost no road noise or engine noise and thats with a few mods and a 6" lift with trail grapplers
