Drain Water Separator

I have an 09 f250 and the drain water separator keeps coming on. When i open the valve to drain it nothing ever comes out?????

It is possible the sensor is bad. The more likely problem is that it is clogged. I had a similar problem but did not have the light come on. There are 3 torx screws that hold the cover on. Remove the screws then take the cover off and clean it out real good. To be on the safe side I would not drive it till you cleaned it out and see if the light goes off after cleaning. Water in the engine and the hpfp is a death sentence for it. Good luck!
