What's your experiences?
I’m looking at programmers for my truck and I’m looking for actual experience. I want something that I can tune on the go for better gas mileage or more power. I’ve looked at Banks, Bullydog, and a couple other tuners. Let me know what you have and how it worked for you good or bad. Thanks for any info.

I think most of the crowd around here Opts for H&S Kits or Spartan or Innovative. These are the vendors that seem to be Hard at work to provide excellent products for their particular customers. From what Ive seen , everyone has researched and is happy with what they Purchased.
Banks isn't to popular here , Seems their Products are to limited by epa guidlines. a few complimentary bolt on systems for a tuned diesel include Afe stage 2 and S&B intakes. Airdog fuel system upgrades. Oil bypass systems from amsoil (if you decide to DPF/CAT delete). The list is Big . |

Not sure if you're worried about smog or not but here in Ca we have to be careful. Bullydog and Edge from what I've seen on this board are not on the top of the list but they are two that are working on Ca smog exemption right now. I'm a little doubtful as to whether they will succeed or not.
If you have tow/haul on your truck, be careful. I have two friends that have poped their engines using tuners and both while in tow/haul mode. I have no clue what they were doing at the time but it's something to ask about. |

H&S or SCT hands down... if you want the ability to shift on the fly then go with a H&S model... if you need any prices or more info let me know

I did the Spartan at 2300 Mi, got the truck in OCT, I now have over 29000 MI and feel its paid for itself in MPGs (19) and performance, I was careful with the DPF delete though, I drive to Cali, a few time a year for work, having heard about the environazzis out there, I decided to get a cat & dpf from a bone yard( $ 100 at U-pull & pay) hollow them out and put on the truck, sure glad I did, before Christmas I was driving home, and was flagged for smoking, they looked for and saw a DPF, then they did something that really pi$$ed me off, they scanned my OBDII port, Didnt work though< I clipped wires #2,10 3" from the port, after I did the Tune, They looked very frustrated, and just gave me a written warning. My dealer Summit Ford is Mod friendly, so no problem there, they even reprogramed my TPMS (aftermarket Tires) They and Ford ROCK!!!

I've never heard of anyone getting cited for an occasional puff of black soot as long as you're not pouring out coal and racing or smoking the tires at the same time. Are you sure you were still in California and not in Winslow Az. |

Thanks for all the info so far. I've got to figure out intake, exhaust and if I want to do the dpf and cat delete.

I was looking at the H&S if I do the dpf delete but I'm still looking at pros and cons of the dpf delete.

Yes it was in Cali at I-710& I 405 they called in "Enhanced Emission Enforcement" It looked like Enhanced Harassment of lifted/modified Pick-ups, I ruin a 210 tune on the Spartan, and only get smoke when I really get on it, they kept asking me if I modified the truck, and if I had to smog test in Colorado, I tried to explain CO doesn't do the whole state, The guy if front of me got a bunch of paperwork ( tickets) when he pulled away, I sure hope they never start that $hi* here....
