Question Kentucky Plant shutdown for two weeks?

I called my dealer the other day to find out the status of the truck i ordered. He told me the Kentucky plant that makes the SuperDuty's is having a two week recess. Does anyone know what he is talking about? Anyway he said my truck will probably come in August now. I am getting impatient. I want the power now.

This is the time that the model year changes and in previous years the workers would get 2 weeks off before starting up on the next years model. But since the 08 was out early there is no year model change but they still get there vacation. Thats what I would think.

This is typical. This time is needed to do maintenance and changeovers. The Nissan plant near my home has doen the same, along with its suppliers.

Well I am a little more excited. My salesman called yesterday to tell me my truck has a build date the week of August 06. I guess that means I'll probably get it somewhere around the week of the 20th. I'm crossing my fingers.

6 August Build

My truck is also being built 6 August with a projected delivery date of 15 August...guess we are on the other side of the plant closing!

I have not been given a projected delivery or ship date yet. I am just figuring two weeks for delivery from the build date because they will have to ship by rail to Galena Park, Texas. Then I'll have to wait on a truck to bring it to the dealer. I hope I can get it sooner. I just took a trip to Destin, FL. It sure would have been nice instead of craming everything into the back of the wife's Expedition.
