Spare tire key

How many different types of lock keys are there for the spare? i somehow lost the key to get the spare out and i need to get it out,. is there any other way to pry that lock out or cut it out or anything without taking it to the dealer?

I don't even want the spare on there or the lock it is a PITA!

Thanks Dudes

Well what I did with mine, all my trucks that I have had. Prior to losing the key drop the tire down and remove the locking assembly. Small pry bar and 5 seconds and its off then no more issues. If some one needs a tire that bad, they can go through the trouble of taking mine. However if you already lost the key the only way to get at the locking mechanism is possibly dropping the rear bumper. Then you may have enough room to get at it to remove it. If that aint an option, call dealer, get new key and then go back to option 1.

Easy, cut the end of the cable that goes thru the center of the spare tire. Tire will fall right off (and never be able to go back one again unless you buy new parts).
