Tuner and Exhaust

Hey guys we just recently took our truck and Toyhauler for its maiden voyage for about 250 miles each way. The trailer pulled nicely and the truck had plenty of power. I averaged 9.5 mpg both ways. So now I am ready for a tuner and exhaust.

After reading everyones responses I would like to get a Spartan tuner with an AFE DFP delete exhaust system. I have tried to browse around the sponsor section but for some reason it is not bringing up any stuff for me.

Does anyone have some links to some dealers where I can get some prices on these items or perhaps package deals? Thanks in advance for the info.

you might also consider going with a custom tuned SCT with innovative diesel tunes or a H&S tuner.. plus KEM can put custom tunes on the H&S now....

I know everyone has their own opinions on which tuner is best and so on. The reason I was leaning Spartan is because I have read it has the least detecability if I need to return to stock for warranty work.

Can someone lay out the pro's and con's with other tuners? I am relatively new to tuners being I just got rid of my 99 7.3L for this 08 6.4L.

With the sct x3 could I get h&s tunes on it or not? I know a guy with that x3 for sale and have thought about purchasing it... I don't want any crazy custom tunes just something to delete to dpf...

not on a 6.4L....

not for a 6.4L.. i know eric can now put tunes on a X3 but its a custom version for a 6.4L and costs almost as much as the TSX... its not the regular X3 we have been using for the 6.0L's as before

im sure you have already seen tons of info on spartan so ill lay out the H&S and SCT...

SCT:
comes in 3 diff versions from innovative diesel
X3 hand held tuner
Livewire
touch screen

H&S
3 diff versions and great customer service
Black Max: Large all in one unit with pre loaded tunes..
Mini Max: Smaller screen but still great solid unit
XRT Pro: hand held tuner with DPF on and DPF off tunes

black max and mini max are shift on the fly units.. also all the H&S tuners can be used on straight pipe exhaust with no bungs.

you can also get great custom tunes from KEM performance on the H&S units...

overall you cant go wrong with any of your 3 choices.. but my recommendation is the H&S or SCT...
