do a search, lots of info on it. I did mine but will put it back on if i need warranty work, milage pick up a little but not as much as the claims. You'll also need a programmer, I went with a H&S XRT Pro.

Like tricktom said do a search plenty of info. I will give you my 2 cents.
It will void your warranty to do a dpf delete. You can put it back on to take in for warranty work like stated above. If you have a major engine or transmission damage and if Ford sends a rep to look at the truck they will know it was programmed because they will look at everything and find it. The phrase I have heard a lot is if you can't afford to play then leave it stock. It is against he law to delete the DPF as well. Depends on where you live as tio whether it is a issue or not come inspection time. Deleting the DPF will increase your milage but you need a tuner. Spartan tuners claim to be undetectable by Ford. They run anywhere from $1,300 to $1,800 depending on what you get. People will say that if you have a warranty problem that Ford has to prove that having the tuner caused the problem in order to deny warranty coverage. I look at it as Ford has all the experts and I have none. If it came to a lawsuit I am sure that Ford can present more experts then I. Any way hope some of this info helps. Do a search and you will find all kinds of info and opinions. In the end do your own research and make an informed choice. Good luck to you. Ed |

As others have said... yes it will void your warranty if they find out.
DPF Delete Kit and tuner is going to run you north of $1000 easy. Its addictive...... |

I did the DPF/Cat delete on my truck with only 4,000 miles on the ODO. If you are ever towing a heavy trailer up a long, steep hill (like out of Salt Lake City, UT on I-80) and have it go into regen mode you will understand why I had to do it!!
As said by others if I have to take it in for warranty work I will throw the DPF back on. |

As mentioned, it has been discussed many times. But if you revert to stock, you should be OK for most warranty work. Just remember that reverting to stock is not 100% undetectable so if you do get caught, don't complain.

What's the chances of getting caught w/out the dpf? Would the dealership say something about it or would they just void the warranty... and if your already out of warranty what can the dealership say? they wont report you or anything will they?

If you showed up at the dealer, the dealer may or may not say anything, depending on two things. One, how they personally feel about tuning. Two, if a Ford rep happens to be there paying a visit.
Some dealers don't seem to care, others are playing it by the book. The consensus either way is to convert it back to stock to avoid any potential problem with it. |
