fuel/oil maintance

just bought a 2008 f-350. how often do u guys change ur oil, and fuel filters?its my 1st deisel, went to dealer 2day they told me 99.00 for oil change and 199.00 for the fuel filters.

oil every 5k and fuel filters 10-15k intervals.

Welcome aboard! This is a great place to learn the people on here are very helpful.

The manual says 5,000 miles for oil if severe conditions and 10,000 for normal. With the regen a lot of people go with 5,000 I do 7,000 because I do not do a lot of towing nor do I do a lot of city driving. If you are going to tow the definatly 5,000 miles for oil.

Fuel I do every 15,000 manual says 20,000 but a lot of guys do it every 10,000.

If you read a lot of post on here you can get good info on your truck. You can send out an oil sample as well to get it analyzed that will help you in determining how your oil is doing between changes. Hope some of this info helps enjoy the new truck!

10k with a DPF still in place is a tad to long. Thats alot of potential dilution in the oil.

Ive always went every 5,000 on oil and 10,000 on fuel filters.

and 12000 miles on fuel filters

5000-7500 on oil and 10-15k on the fuel. Dont pay the dealer, do it yourself. They are both pretty straight forward to change and you will save quite a bit of money. Here is a link to the exact same filters they sell.

Yes they are very easy to do yourself, except the fuel filter on the frame rail, it sucks. Everytime I change it I end up getting diesel all over me.
