Switching motor oil once

I got a free oil change in the mail from my dealership and I was wondering if it is ok this one time to do this. I'm using Rotella 15W-40 and of course they will be using motorcraft. So is it ok this one time to switch and go back to rotella on the following oil change?

The Motorcraft oil is what came in it originally. It wouldn't be a big deal to put some in it again. Imo.

You will be fine. Go get that free oil change. I switch oils every fall and spring. I run synthetic all winter, and run normal rotella in the summer.

As long as the oil is the same viscosity, with the same (Diesel-Approved) rateing, it will not hurt a thing. Synthetic, (Mobil-1) Semi-Synthetic(Rotella) or Dino/Motorcraft(Ford), they are all oil, and they all lubricate your engine.

The only thing that changes is the detergents and how long they last. Synthetic oils last longer because the oil is more sheer-resistant.

In the end, do what you are comfortable with, oil is oil.
