I run the T6 synthetic, but I honestly mainly run the synthetic because of the extreme cold weather where I'm at. I've had great UOA's with it as well.

Does it get real cold where you live or do you do some heavy towing?

I use the 15-40 Rotella. It only will get in the mid 20's here. Reason I dont use the 5-40 Synthetic is I change the oil every 2500-3000 miles because when I am in the truck it gets used pulling heavy loads. The other is it takes me at least 6 months to get that mileage. It is not a daily driver. Both are good oils though. If it got colder here I would run the 5-40 Synthetic.

We have several night where it gets pretty cold, but nothing crazy I'm in Tennessee. The only heavy towing I do is pulling round bales of hay (1500lbs a bale with 3-4 on a trailer) and that maybe once every two weeks. So i should take the T1 back and pick up some 15-40, would be my best bet?

The 15-40 is what I use. After 5000, to 6000 miles some towing, my oil report will show the oil has 50% additives still left.

I just changed my oil, I put the 15-40 in the truck... One question, since I changed the oil myself will the oil light come on after awhile, or will the truck know that the oil has been changed and it wont give me any problems?

I run Rotella 15-40 but did recently changed my oil and went with 10-30 Rotella, it gets pretty cold around here and the dealers here put that weight in around here during winter. Rotella seems to pretty good oil and it is cj-4 grade which is what is recommended for the 6.4.

Is the Rotella T Synthetic the T6?

Rotella T6 is full synthetic and T5 is synthetic blend. T must stand for something simple because there truck oil is Rotella T followed by a number.
