i think my dealership is trying to screw me,any help???

hi all, i brought my truck in last week because it was going into re-gen alot and when it did id loose boost pressure(only get to 10lbs and then blow off) and the turbo would start making bad noises when pushed a little. sounded really bad so took it in.keep in mind when it was not in re-gen i had full boost and no turbo noise and all was well. the dealer is telling me it was a completely clogged air filter. i have an s&b intake and just cleaned it 1 month ago and know it was clean then, i also have no engine light from the mass air flow.can anyone help as to if this sounds screwed up? id appreciate it!

Stealerships will blame any problem they can on any aftermarket part they find on a vehicle. Oh you have an aftermarket stereo that must be reason your your truck is leaking coolant,,,, oh your window tint is what caused your fuel injectors to stick open,,,,oh you have gooseneck hitch in the bed , thats why the air conditioner isn't working... They will say stuff that a retarded monkey would call bullsh*t on and expect you to believe it.

haha well like i've stated before, some dealers just plain don't want to(or know how to) work on 6.4s. you need to find a shop that does diesel work

Have you pulled your air filter since they told you it was clogged up to see for yourself? Are you running a aftermarket tuner? is the truck still under warranty? you said a month ago the filter was clean, when did you start having these problems? Maybe take it to a different dealer and see if you get the same answer. I have a dealer where I live thats great to work with and I am running all kinds of upgrades on my truck.

I think the dealer is your problem, I would ask him to show me what he pulled out of the airfilter and if he says he don't have it anymore I would go to the service manager and raise H*&! and tell him to find out what the real problem is with your truck and give me something to drive until its ready. I mean the truck has 16k on it and there is no way what there telling you makes sense. You have to be tough on them to get their attention. If that doesn't work call the manufacture on them and I wouldn't say anything about the aftermarket filter. I don't think that would avoid the warranty especially if they have no evidence of what they are telling you. What State are you in?

I mean, it sounds like it could be a dirty air filter, but if you're pretty sure it was clean, then it could be that the dealership couldn't figure it out and needed an excuse to get your truck on its way and charge you a few bucks?

well this is my problem, i know it was clean, i only drove it 10 times between the new filter because was miling up my titan before i gave it back. this is why im skeptical. but i guess its as easy as saying "lets look at this clogged air filter" if its clean how the hell is that what im paying a diagnostic fee for! im in calgary alberta canada. im still curious though if anyone has heard of the no boost in regen mode thing and the noisy turbo?
