Question oil in filter housing

hey guys, lookin for opinions on putting some oil in the filter housing while changing oil. makes sense to me to put some in there, what do you guys think??

2008 F250 sd ps cc sb
stock for now, in need of mpg!!

The housing is designed to let oil drain out of it and into the oil pan when the filter lid is loosened.
To put oil in the housing with the filter installed would be alittle tough.
Really see no use in even trying, jmo.

It will just drain back out. When you take off the cap, a drain valve is opened and the housing completely empties. So adding oil with the filter removed wouldn't really do much good.

Traded.. 03 6.0 PSD For.. Black F250 2008 SD LARIAT 6.4 PSD 4x4, Aries Bull Bar, Westin chrome running bars, Dura Liner, B&W Gooseneck hitch, Recon smoked taillights, Icon 4.5" lift, 35" Toyo M/T, etc... Running Spartan Tunes AFE PG 7, Flo Pro 4" DP Back, thanks to Cobb's Diesel. It has been great so far.
