You guys got me scared
I just bought an 08 f350 king ranch crewcab long box with 75000 miles and the more I read about fuel system horror stories and turbos and puking I'm thinking I made a bad choice and should sell asap I love the truck and I want to keep it but I just don't want to be stuck with a big repair bill how much would it cost to bulletproof this engine

I'm not going to tell you my story and ruin your Christmas, but you would probably throw up in your hat. I'm more disappointed than pissed, I love my Fords.

What is the build date on your truck? You need that to figure out which job number you have. Also studs and egr delete are unnecessary on a 6.4 unless you are going for huge power. All you need is a dpf delete, intake, exhaust, and a good tuner(either spartan or sct IMO) and you will be fine and you will have all the power you will want or need.

Strokin 6.4 - Whats up with the build date and what does it mean / tell us. I have not bought my diesel yet but along with killa am a little worried about purchasing a ford althought I just love the 08+ look.

whos got the highest ticker on a 6.4
read the thread above.a lot of guys have posted up with miles and problems.maybe that will ease your mind.the truck is a decent truck.just have to decide for yourself.people post problems on forums for answers,they generally dont talk about how great things are going. |

The 6.4 is a solid motor. Read through the posts. Most have to do with the dpf senors, radiators. The puking is from the the the guys running high hp tunes. Get rid of the doc/dpf and tune it, keeping it under 150hp, and it should be fine. Enjoy your new truck.

Dpf delete and a Spartan or sct tuner, and change oil and fuel filter regular and you will love your truck. Build dates 12/06-7/07 are job 1 trucks there kinda the ones people seem to stay away from
