Front buckets or bench? Thoughts....

Hi guys, I'm sure this has been asked before but I did a search and nothing came up in the first 10 pages.

I have the front bucket 40/20/40 in my '08 and had seen someone post a wanted ad on this local site where I am to trade for their bucket seats for bench and was interested since leather matched and same style, year, etc. I replied back to the ad and the guy is very interested. Thought I'd post a question before I made the move.

Was curious what the rest of your prefer and why. In my case, I'm not sure I would ever need the use of the front middle seat but I guess the option that is there is nice. Additional compartment space in the middle console is nice too.

What are your guys thoughts???

Thanks in advance.

If I had the opportunity to swap out the center bench for a console, I would do it in a second.

I like the buckets with the center floor console. If you dont need the front seat then why switch is my logic. I think the interior has an over all better eye appeal with the floor console than with the bench.

A bench seat makes it easier to make out with your girlfriend/wife at a stop light. I say bench seat.

If you don't think you'll ever need seating for 6 than trade for the buckets and center console. Though this is coming from a guy with quad buckets and dual center consoles.

I have a 2010 with bucket seats and a console, my old truck a 2004 had the buckets with the small seat between them, it's called the 40/20/40, I like that much better, the large console is nice, but I have to say, I miss the flip down armrest and also, if something falls on the floor, you just flip up the armrest and you can reach over, with the console it is a pain, I do miss the 40/20/40 set up.

I think that set up is bad arse! If I didnt flip my back seats up alot to haul things inside the cab I would love to have that set up, although laying down to take power naps in the back seat would be tough especially with someone else with ya.....

For me the 40/20/40 bench was a must have. We have two kids, and when Grandparents visit we can all load up and head out. We've hauled six a few other times as well. The comment about the girlfriend/wife was funny. I hadn't had a bench seat in a vehicle in 25 years before my '08 F250 and the first trip we took momma scooted over and snuggled up.

Not quite like the old days at the outdoor theater though.....

I do like the look of the buckets with center console. Another thing to consider is that the buckets with center console seem to all have heated seats? And the benches do not? Not sure that's 100% true, but it seemed to be the case at the ones I looked at before I bought mine....

I have the "bench" in the Lariat and my two fronts are heated. Middle section is not heated.
