Open rear end, really?
Hey Guys,
I know there's a very similiar thread going on right now, but, how do I tell what axle I have? I just found out I need a Tru-Track BAD! Jegs doesn't list it for my 09 SD by truck model. Hopefully I can find one specific for the axle. It looks bigger than a D60, might just be me though. The dealer want's $1600 + to install the factory LS unit. I must admit, I was shocked two days ago when we finially got some snow here in mid Michigan to find out they'd put 1 wheel drive in something with that much weight on the front axle. Thanks, Jim |

Most front axles are open, but the tru trac might bother your steering by always being locked. I would get a trac lock.
I want a tru trac but my buddies talked me out of it. |

I'm actually talking about the rear axle. I found the Tru-trak application guide, now I just need to identify what axle I have. Any help decoding the tag would be great. Like I said, this 1 wheel drive stuff isn't gonna cut it Michigan winter!
thanks, Jim |
