New 6.4

I heard they were going to offer both the 6.0 and 6.4 upto 2008. Then the 6.0 would not be offered. The 6.4's were entering production at the plants.

Totally Happy, I have a '99 7.3. I like the 6.0 when it came out it just had too many issues, now they finally get it right and its out the window. Thats why I said that.

Could this be the little brother of the new PSD. IH already builds this one, with most of the stuff that the rumors tell of the 6.4

Fuel Economy?

Any idea if the 6.4 will have higher fuel economy than 6.0? It will certainly do better than 7.3.

glenn, ford is already putting that in the low cab foreward (the flip up cab style box vans like the izuzu's).....it is a hybrid of the 6.0 and what the 6.4 is going to be. it has a smaller version of the turbo set up on the 6.4, but it is still HP oil like the 6.0. that motor is also a v-6, but its a 6.0 block with two cylenders cut off. that v-6 diesel was origionally designed for the F-150, but they could not get the engine vibration low enough to release it........Marc

6.4 Out Of The Box

The 6.4 Shouldnt Have A Whole Lot Of Program Problems Like We Saw With The 6.0... It Is Currently Being Worked Over By The Boys At Roush Racing... They Claim That By Time We See It In Late 2006, Early 2007 That It Wont Have Issues Like The Little Sister 6.0 Had...
Lets Hope I Have A Line Of 6.0s Everyday To Try To Make Run Everyday... I Wish They Would Have Put A Particulate Canister On A 7.3 And There Problems Would Have Been Solved With A 7.3... Now There Going To Have One On The 6.4... They Should Have Thought About That A Long Time Ago...
