4x4, 4x4 Offroad, FX4????

What's the difference? I just bought an 08 4x4 Offroad and just wondering what the difference is between these.

4x4 means 4 wheel drive 4x4 off road comes with skid plates and FX4 comes with skid plates and rancho shocks

also the 4x4 offroad and FX4 have different color package for the grills, bumpers, etc

I think the 08-09 trucks like with lariat and higher class were 4x4 offroad if they had skidplates.. The FX4 was a more offroad package, simplier interior (turn nob a/c, etc), not chrome grills or bumpers.. But the 2010s are all FX4 package but with chrome bumper and grills if they are 4x4.. Whether its XL or King Ranch

The 4x4 off-road has a 2in lift doesn't it?? Or am I just loopy..
Because my old 99 5.4l 4x4off road sat 2in taller than my dads 2000 7.3l4x4..
Engine weight mighta made his sag more.. But I'm pretty sure off-road package gives it some lift. or not.. lol
