I was wondering if anybody has chopped there muffler off yet. I wanna go do mine but i dont want a engine light on my dash. Just thought i get some info before i go do it.

not sure if it would run any codes... im assuming your talking about filter back straight through... i know i saw a thread on here recently about someone installing a magnaflow exhaust on an 08 and said it doesn't sound loud at all.... eventually the manufacturers will figure it out and you'll be able to get a full TB exhaust system

That was me that 7.3 was talking about. I put on a 5in magnaflow muffler delete, and even though I love the performance, there was no sound increase or at least not enough for that grin factor. No light on the truck from me putting the filter back, so go a head and chop away brother!!!

Well the cheapest I found the pro series was $500 bucks, but remember that was a 5in tube with 6in tip and the great thing about it is that it has those "vents" right before the tip. I know the 4in is about 60 bucks cheaper and I believe the MBRP, which also has the vents, start at like $325 on xtremediesel.com. The rep for MBRP told me that they also had the cool duals ready to go and she wasn't sure when the stacks would be out. Either way let me know which way you go and how you like it

Well just got back from the shop. I chopped from the filter back with 6 inch pipeing no muffler. It picked up some power but is very quiet.

Not at all what you were expecting was it? This kid supposedly cut off the DPF and cat and the check engine light isn't on but he isn't telling anyone how he did until you buy the "pipe" he made from him, there is video, we got into it because he won't post how he did it

I have the Magnaflow too and love it, my brother got his used from craigslist but I wanted a valid warranty so I got it here. Magnaflow Exhaust 16948, or you can try one of the sponsors here on the forum, they are allways having sales/specials. Either way its a great exhaust system, sounds great, and very easy to install.

I have the same magnaflow too and love it, you can usually get a used one on ebay or cragislist. I wanted a valid warranty so I got it here. Magnaflow 16948. Also some of the forum sponsors usually have a sale going on. Either way its a great exhaust system, sounds great, and very easy to install.
