A friend of mine is about to pull the trigger on a new truck - he currently owns an immaculate '97 F250 and will be keeping it too. He will be the new one using for one purpose - to carry his Lance Slide-in Camper to and from wherever he'll be camping. It will be parked the rest of the time. He has no money issues so he can buy either truck without making a difference to his finances. Need opinions for him!
2011 - F450 CC Dually w/8 foot bed - King Ranch w/Lariat Package - 6.7L Diesel - power everything - Camper Package - price after all discounts is around $59K. 2010 Leftover - F450 CC Dually w/8 foot bed - Lariat Package - 6.4L Diesel - power everything - Towing and Camper package - price on the lot is $38,500. ![]() He asked my opinion because I have the 6.4l - I figured I'd give him a little more to read. I told him I'd take the 2010 and invest the rest for the future. Please give your honest opinion?

6.7 hasn't proven it self, cost a lot more, needs urea, it only has a bit more HP & TQ. I think like you, buy the 6.4 & use the money he's saving on something else

my dad just ended up with a 2010 mainly for price.
a equally optioned 2011 stickered at 63500, his 2010 stickered at 61000 IIRC. the dealership could only come $1500-2k off a 2011 and we paid around 48k for a 2010 w/ same options. |

if money is no issue then i would def get the 2011. If he has no money issues he can pay to get it fixed if something goes wrong...

If its not going to be a daily driver and is going to sit, I would buy the 6.4. Its not like he's going to realize fuel savings with the 6.7 if its sitting parked.
If it was a daily driver that spends a majority of its life empty, than I'd say the 6.7 might be a more enjoyable experience (he will not save money though). If its parked, the 6.4 will get the job done at 20k less money. |

+1 and for milage and power go with the 11, you don't have to delete sh*t on them and they run dam good and get better milage. and it also depends on what one he liked look wise.
and with that said I don't care for the look of the 2011 and i like the fact i got the only factory truck with twin turbos and i like the look better even if it's starting to be dated.
