regen on cold start up

I just don't know Doesn't happen all the time. Truck setting cold, run out, fire it up and when ya go back out it's sound likes it skipping, running rough, pumps out white smoke, will clear up with strong accleration right back to running rough. Shut it down, restart and it's fine. What does everyone think, I need some info before it goes back to the dealer, ya know how they are, we can't duplicate the problem

Strange behavior, but it's definitely not regen. Regen requires a whole bunch of sensors to be fully warmed up, so it can't happen cold. No codes stored?
