Are you asking who removes their ball hitch when not using it?

If so, not me, I always leave my ball on. I like the idea if someone hits me from behind they will hit the hitch first.

Superdutydixie, That is a good idea, thats what I did in one of my last trucks. My only suggestion to you is take it our occasionally and spray it with wd-40. I had one get seized in my hitch and was never able to get it out. I even hooked my dads pickup to it and pulled on it a few times and still wouldn't budge, I even tried heating it up with a torch. Anyway I would make sure you remove it every once in a while. Just my .02

Are you asking about removing the ball, or the hitch itself? Removing the hitch might save some weight, but you'll be giving up a lot of rear-end protection in case somebody hits you from behind.

i put a new ball on my old 7.3 in march 09 sold it in june 10 and i wanted to keep the ball for my new truck it took my forklift a torch a sledge and 2 cans of wd 40 to get it off total about 1-1/2 hours to get it...i tow the boat and launch in the saltwater every other weekend so thats prolly why it was rusted shut

I remove mine often, I have a drop ball I use to tow toy trailers and then a tri-ball for bigger trailers

i have a b&w tow and stow i love it i just wish it had a longer drop and yes i leave it in because im always in traffic and i like having that extra protection of incase someone hits me

I have a Ford Logo Hitch cover I put in the receiver when I'm not towing. Only put the stinger in when I need it.

I tow a 5th wheel so my main hitch is in the bed.

I leave the ball in all the time.

The shiny chrome ball is a great deterrent for those coming up behind me at stop lights. It says "you may reach my bumper if you hit me, but I guarantee that I will at least get your radiator in the process.....I will drive away after we exchange insurance info....you, on the other hand, will most likely not"
