What to expect from a 6.4
Im looking at getting a loaded reg cab for work.i get about 11mpg out of my gas and want to know if i will actually save money by going diesel. also is it really a 10,000 dollar fine if you get caught without a dpf.Thanks for your time and help. Cody Buckley

well since a reg cab is lighter then ex or crew cabs, you might see a little better mileage but not way better without deleting the DPF. And yes it is a 10K fine from the EPA if you are caught without a DPF on the truck. if you delete the DPF/DOC and keep the stock exhaust and run a very clean tune, it will be hard to tell you're tuned.

IF you live in a state that doesnt enforce pollution laws and doesnt have inspections, I would delete it in a heart beat. I took mine off and almost doubled my MPG. The DPF is really bad for the truck in a lot of ways.

Ya! I'd say 14-15 driven easily out of a reg cab! But until you do the deletes they're kind of a turd!

ok thanks! what mods do you recommend. itll be a reg cab with srw.1000pds of tools and equipment in the bed daily and towing a 3500pd trailer every day. also the truck will have an 8 foot 6 fisher v plow.

I personally did a dpf/doc delete & spartan tuner my new cai should be here next week! I've also heard good things about the h&s tuner! Biggest thing is get the dpf off the truck!
