Where is Computer Module?

Can anyone answer where the computer module is? I'm trying to reprogram the door keypad (just bought my truck used) and the previous owner didn't leave the code behind anywhere. I've searched the internet and all I've read is that others gave up on looking for it. I'd rather not shell out a fortune at the dealer - will already have to pay for a second key.

Try calling around different dealers...they gave me the code for my door pad Free.

I got this from another Forum for a 2008 (can't guarantee the acuracy...I have also heard they are behind the radio, but I belive that was earlier models)

"The code is also printed on the Smart Junction Box (fuse panel under the dash behind the right kick panel) The label is located on the back side of the module meaning it may need to be unbolted from the body. I would try using a small mechanic's mirror if you have one."

I'll place a few calls tomorrow. Maybe one of them will offer to do it for free.

I've seen it on the fuse panel behind the passenger kick panel before.

Every dealer in town quoted me $55 to pull the code. One dealer wanted to pull the computer and said it would take 1/2 a day. That was the wrong answer.

The one that said he could just scan it agreed to take half off if I also got new keys made. Sounds like a plan to me.

If you buy new keys, he should give it to yo for free. They have to program the module anyway for the $100 keys to work.

Keys Issue Don't Use Dealer!

BTW, you can buy a blank key for your truck off Ebay for like 8 bucks, have your local key guy cut it for you for about 5 bucks, and program it yourself with the instructions in your owner's manual. works like a charm, did it twice for my 2008 6.4L, hell of a lot cheaper than the dealer!
