****REFLASH****

Who has the latest reflash and did you have it done after your truck passed 36,000 miles? I'm asking because I was told if you take your truck in to have it flashed after 36k you have to pay $100. That's what I had to pay the other day when I took my truck in for a CEL. I paid the money and twenty minutes after I left the dealer I got another CEL. Turns out my DPF is bad and has to be replaced. Thank god I purchased an extended warranty. BTW truck has around 48,000 miles on it.

Seems like they always have a new reflash out thats supposed to do something or fix an issue. For the most part people just say if your truck's running fine, don't worry about the reflash. Mine hasn't been reflashed since before February of 09.

My truck is a 2008 JOB 2 & it has N E V E R been to the FORD dealer. I have 30,510 miles. Now my truck has a slight vibration only on idle. Don't want to take it to the deal & get a reflash

I have heard that if you take your truck in for any work that requires hooking up the OBD port to their computer, they will automatically load the latest flash...Not sure if that true or not

That is my understanding as well. All manufacturers regularly update their ECU software and its done whenever a vehicle is in for dealer service.

The DPF would have been replaced for free anyways. All cars/trucks carry a 8 year, 80,000 mile emissions warranty. Covers converters, PCM's, All emission related parts. Read your owners manual.

I am not sure when it started but 2008 and newer vehicles no longer have the $100 deductible. Did you take it in to have the truck flashed or did you take it in for the CEL light? unless you took it in and told them to reflash with the latest flash, you should not have been charged.
