6.4 mileage help
well I just got back from a 1500 mile trip. I decided to do a a test. I have a CC SB 4x4 I did 1/2 the trip with my mirrors folded in and 1/2 with them extended. I made 1.2 MPG better with them folded in. I was running 70 mph flat land empty both ways. This was hand calculated
Just trying to help people out |

When you say "folded in" do you mean folded in as folded in against the truck so that you cant use them or just not "extended" out for trailer towing?

I think he means folded in flat so that u can't use them

That's not even legal.

What if you had them little mirrors that come factory, the non tow-package ones? Think that'd help some, too.
I think around here you'd probably get a ****ing citation for wheelin' when they're folded in. |

Maybe it is illegal but if I can pick up 1 mile per gallon you can bet I will try it. Who is going to bother you when you are out in the middle of no where towing? 1 mile per gallon is a big deal. When you look at all of the threads regarding the larger front air dam and I am not even sure if it makes a difference. Here is an idea that I believe will actually work and it will cost $ 0.00.

What is your safety worth? Mirrors are required for a reason, especially when towing!

Law only requires a rearview mirror and the driver's side door mirror. So if you only fold in the passenger side then you're good.
