help me out!!!
Hey guys, i just bought a 2010 f350 extended cab shortbed with the 6.4. I have had it for a week and have about 600 miles on it. it is bone stock. no problems what so ever the truck rides beautifully. i am averaging about 14.5 -15.5 MPG which i guess isn't so bad. I have read some horror stories about blown motors and such i just hope my truck stays trouble free. I really want to buy a H&S tuner witht the DPF delete but i am scared of voiding the warranty and having to pay out of my pocket to fix problems because i simply won't be able to afford it. I guess i am just looking to see if anyone has any input on the reliabilty of this 6.4 i have. any help will be appreciated!

The 6.4 is a reliable platform. Even more so if you delete the DPF

Dave, are you are suggesting this guy void his warranty??? He just bought this truck and said he could not afford repairs. I will not tune my truck until it is out of warranty. There have been too many HPFP failures to even think about voiding my warranty. $10,000 repair is not in my wallet either. I have had no problems with my 08 but I ain't taking that chance. JMO of course. You know as a mod. your opinion might go farther then mine.....

cbienlein: Wow,, I'm impressed with your wisdom. I guess you are independently wealthy, cause I make a good living but can not justify a $10,000 repair of my truck because I read it here. Some who input here have alot more influence then they realize, unknowingly. JMO.

HPFP failures. They arent as common as you think.
Truthfully the 6.4 is far more reliable with the DPF gone. No more fuel dilution issues among other things. But as said. You have to pay to play |

Dave: I absolutely agree. I just can't. We are a two vehicle family and both are used to get to work. I am a aircraft mech. by trade and work for the worlds largest low cost airline, so I do know how and would if I could. Just can't due to the time lost if things were to go bad. Trust me, the minute this truck is out of warranty it's going to be adjusted. Just can't justify it while they still pay.

My 2008 6.4 has 30,057 miles & I haven't taken it to the dealer, BUT it's still stock,( I only drop-in a AFE PRO DRY 7 air-filter) cause I don't want to lose my 5 year/100,000 mile warranty.

with all this being said, what do you think the chances are of them voiding my warranty if a problem occurs but i remove the tuner and swap out the exhaust before taking her into the dealership? i have heard of some real ******* service managers, and i have heard of some warranty work being done with the DPF delete still in place? Also, wheels and tires, leveling kit, and intake..... any of that possible cause of warranty voiding?
