Best Oil for 2008 F250 6.4L???
Just purchased an 08 F250 6.4 SD and want to go ahead and change the oil (even thought the non ford dealer did it or said he did).
I know I need to use the CJ4 type but I am interested in what you guys think is the best brand and weight to use. I live in central alabama so rightnow we are iin the heat of summer and I drive about 60 miles a day at an avg speed of around 50mph. I pull a 8600# travel trailer every other weekend. I will definatly use Motorcraft filters as I have seen on the forums to avoid others like the plauge. Appreciate the input... |

I use Rotella 15W-40.

regular dino rotella 15-40 gets the job done, if you want to go synthetic then I would go with mobil 5-40.

Rotella 5w40 syn is good too.
You can run the 5w40 all year round, too. |

Rotella seems to be a popular choice. I noticed it is more expensive at Wal Mart. I am really not opposed to the higher price, if it is really better.
I read a lot of other posts that urge to stay with Motorcraft. Is there a comparison survey or test that shows which oil is superior? |
