Mirror Melting???

I borrowed my parents '10 6.4 over the weekend to go to the lake and I ran into an issue. On the driver side mirror, the is what appears to be a burn mark (just imagine burnt plastic) going from the top of the mirror to the bottom of it. When I felt it, the mirror was hot. So I'm guessing it's an electrical short somewhere in the mirror housing and I'll be taking it to the dealer, but before I do I wanted to see if this was an issue with these trucks or if someone else has had a similiar issue.

did you accidentally turn the mirror heater on and leave it on or something?this is the first ive heard of it.or maybe someone was being a dick and torched your mirror.either way that sucks

Heaters was the first thing that came to my mind as well. When you say you borrowed your parents truck, did they know about it?

Mirror heater wasn't on, I'm dead certain about that. My parents knew I took the truck but they don't know about the mirror just yet. I have the truck til Saturday afternoon when I take it back to them. It's weird though, because it's only on the drivers mirror, and the way it's burned it looks like a wire shorted and burned it. I'll get a picture up in a minute
