Couple Decal Questions?
I have seen a couple people have put vinyl decals over the Ford emblem on the steering wheel, one was a running W. Anyway how do you get that emblem off the steering wheel or how do you get the sticker to stay and not curl on the edges? Question 2 Does someone make custom decals for that steering wheel emblem? Question 3 Has anyone put custom FX4 stickers in place of the factory ones? If so lets see pics. Thanks

I worked for a decal company that allowed me to make my own stickers, so I made front and rear ford decals making the blue white, same thing for my steering wheel and then just outlined grey fx4 decals for the bedsides.... Can't make em anymore as I don't work there...

That looks awesome, thats what I am wanting to do only in black. How are they holding up? Any curling around the edges at all?

I guess you talking about what I did...
![]() I went to a place that makes signs, vinyl stickers etc. and they found a couple colors that matched close enough and she stuck it over the Ford part. Then the W was put over that. I also had my front and back ovals sanded and painted with a vinyl sticker over that. ![]()

Well, they don't curl up cause they're made of the same material we made motocross graphics out of which is verrrrry sticky and verrrrry thick... I wish I could tell you they'd make em for you, but they want like $50 for the front and rears and I'm sure around that for the bedsides also. I think even if it wasn't on the same material it wouldn't curl, cause I made them where they were chrome on the outside and didn't wrap all the way around the emblems.....

OOWeaver68, I did get the idea from you, I think it is a great way to personalize my truck for little cost. I want black with John Deere logo in the center I think. Did you take the steering wheel emblem out and wrap it or just go over the top?

OOWeaver68, Did you remove the grill and tailgate emblem to paint? How are they held on if you did? So for drilling you with questions I just want to make sure I do it right, I don't want it to look cheesy. thanks

No problem with the questions bud.
Steering wheel - Just stuck right over the Ford oval, didnt take it off. Front Oval - Take off nut from plastic stem. Unclip the 2 clips and it will come right out. Might need a buddys help with the clips. Back Oval - Just double sided tape holding it on. Grab a hold and pull carefully. I got a buddy with smaller fingers to get mine off. Then had them sanded smooth and painted and the sticker put on. Those 3 things and the fender vents painted, I'm in it for about $60. But Ive got a good hookup on getting my stuff painted with matching factory paint. |

The sign shop can do any logo you want and the printer will cut it out exactly like it is. I just had to find a logo and email it to them in a jpg format or something like that.

OOWeaver68, Thanks for all your help I may try and get this mod done this week. I also have a paint guy that will paint them for little to no cost so thats nice. Now I just need to decide what I want to put in the center I'm debating between the John Deere logo or just the words John Deere in Silver maybe. I suppose if it doesn't turn out the way I want it I could pick a different center sticker. Anyway I really appriciate all your help.
