NEW TO THE 6.4L

does the 6.4 take that urea crap? does my truck ever go into regen? how will i know if it does?

No, the urea crap wasn't introduced until the 6.7 engine.

Yes, your truck will go into regen unless you tuned it and removed the DPF.

You will notice a slight change in engine sound, EGT's will be in the 1000+ range and a message will appear on your message center briefly saying "Cleaning Exhaust Filter" or something similar. Later dealer flashes or TSB's removed the constant display so it may only briefly flash when it goes into regen, so if you have this later flash, you could miss it.

i will take some pics today when i pick it up from the shop im having a new upper radiator hose put on had a small leak...ive only had the damn thing a week and a 1/2...i will upload them soon

can i sync my phone with my 08' or is that only on the newer trucks?

You will definitely hear a change in engine sound. Even if you have the newest flash when the message only lasts 2 seconds.

does it sound like the fan clutch kicking in? because i hear that quite often way to often to be a regen.

SYNC wasn't available until the '09 trucks came out however, so your only option without SYNC is a standard bluetooth pairing. What you can do with a bluetooth pairing depends on the headunit installed.

Have you verified that all the TSB's have been taken care of? Flashes, Venturi T for the radiator, etc..
