I bought one from ebay for a chevy or it might have been universal. It fits right on the window mount and there is minor wiring involved. Now i have outside temp and compass in the rear view mirror. Works great

What options do you have on your truck? The message center should have the compass display on it and as far as outside temp, if you have the climate control system, you will have a button in the middle labeled EXT which is for external temperature. If you don't have that button, then you will have to change out the mirror or something to get the temperature like mentioned above.

I have been looking into this as well - is their an additional sensor or something needed for the mirror to read the outside air temp? Or is this pretty much a plug and play setup?

I installed mine in about an hour, start to finish. I had bought it off ebay with the full length of wire. Many of them on ebay come with a sensor with a little stub of wire and then the mirror with the stub of wire. You have to supply the wire and splice it all together. |
