key fob wont program

I tried to program a key fob myself. It goes into program mode ie, doors lock or unlock whatever it does, but wont actually program the fob. So I take it to the dealer and they say the exact same thing. Anybody ever have the same problem, and if so how did you fix it.

I am in the same boat right now - I even had a ser. advisor give it a try with no luck - swapped it out at the parts dept. with a new one and still nothing? I am wondering if disconnecting the batteries will reset anything and possibly it will program then? Other than that I don't know what to do or try.

I had the same problem. took it to the dealership in town and they had to hook it up and change the VIN to one with a key fob from the factory.

I tried over the weekend disconnecting the batteries hoping that by doing so something would reset - no luck. Going to take it to Ford sometime this week and see if they have any ideas.
