6.4??? 3.55 or 3.73

Hey guys im probly about to buy a 6.4 and was wodering which rearend I want to go with. I dont pull everyday anymore so its mainly hwy and small loads an occasional dump trailer load and what not. Im a contractor so will be pulling moderately. Im looking at going with a ccsb 4x4. I love the 3.73s but wondering what you guys that have 3.55s think about those.

If your mostly driving hwy go for 3.55, if not stick with the 3.73's. I have 3.55's and do mostly city and it kills my milage compared to my brother in law's truck who has the 3.73's. I do alot better on the hwy though. In comparison, the 3.73's do a better average milage.

The 3.73s are probly what i would go with. I was just wondering how those running 3.55 were liking them.

The 3.55's won't be as good as the 3.73's if you plan on doing any towing/hauling whatsoever.

I have had an 08 with 3:73, 09 with 4:10 and now a 10 with 3:55. I don't pull any loads over 10,000 lbs, but honestly I can't tell much difference between the three. My 3:55's definitely get the best mileage out of the three though. Just my .02.

I have 3.55s on my truck and had 4.10s on the last one, and didn't really tell much of a difference

Thanks for the info guys. I found a 2010 in Dallas with 2100 miles on it that is 3.55. They are asking 45,900 for it. I may look into that one

Whoa, they are asking 46 for it!? I got mine NEW and it's a Lariat for only 39...

That's way too much. I got my 2010 for 38k with 3 miles on it. If you are here in the Dallas area I can pm you some info of some dealerships to go to where they will give you a very good price on a 2010 model.

Ya it is pricy..... I found another that I am buying. Got it for 40k with custom leather being put in. Its just an XLT though, no fancy stuff. I am really liking these new fords. The turing radius on these things is amazing. Any of you guys subscribed to a thread on what the best mods are for these trucks. At least for CIA and exhaust and mild tune. I would delete the dpf and all the BS but i guess it needs to stay within warranty.
