This is just pitiful work

This has now confirmed why I have a serious trust issue with taking my truck to a shop.

I have to start off by saying that the tech working on my truck now is great, and I fully trust him. He has been completely honest and has done great work so far.

BUT the tech that fixed my truck when the head gaskets blew did the biggest half assed job I have ever seen and its frustrated me more than you can imagine. My truck would probably not have been in the shop for about a month now if that tech hadnt ever touched my truck.

Some of you know Ive been having issues with my truck since my HGs were done in February.

So I took it too my local dealer, (it was at a dealer near where I bought the truck for HGs)

The first two weeks they replaced a bunch of parts to fix a code I was throwing but they didnt fix my squeaking issue. So I took it back in and they looked some more and determined up pipes. So today they pull the cab and I was just over there talking to the tech. Well turns out the up pipes are perfectly fine.

BUT he shows me the back of one of my turbos and this is what I see


Not only did the previous tech use the wrong bolts on the turbo but he left one out!! How the hell do you just not care that much? On top of that my tech replaced about 6 other bolts previously that had been left out around the fan shroud and other parts, and said a lot of lines and bolts were loose when he pulled the cab. I mean come on, seriously.

I personally take pride in the work I do for my business, Ive spent a full extra day already on a new job fixing the stuff someone half assed previously. I expect the same kind of work to be done on my vehicle.

Im sorry Im just beyond frustrated right now. Now he is gonna have to talk to the service manager, probably pull the turbos and look through them and go from there. This truck has been in the shop half the time Ive owned it.

crazy pic of the turbos man, it's awesome that they are doing the warranty work with your mods still installed. glad the guy working on it now knows what the hell he's doing

Well there are no mods on it right now, I put the DPF back on and the stock intake, the tech didnt care if it was modded but I felt better just having it all stock. and yeah Im very glad to have a trustworthy tech now

Yeah no kidding. My luck sure hasnt got any better with trucks

Yeah me too. Honestly Im not sure how long after this whole turbo issue. Ill know more tomorrow. With my luck at least a week. Its been in and out of there for the past month already

Yep still planning on starting in august, my orientation is actually next tuesday so Ill be down there Monday night

that's the kind of work you get in a flat rate shop sometimes, the techs just want to get more money by doing it faster, rather than better. hope you get it finally fixed.
