Got some codes to pop up
Got two codes to pop up and see what you guys think. I believe it's not a big deal cause the truck drives fine.
P0401- Exhaust gas recirculation flow insufficent detected P1000- OBD systems readiness test not complete. What do you think cause these to pop up. |

While you have not said tuned or not or how may miles, the obvious first call is the EGR valve sticking...
It could also be a sensor in the exhaust system, as when one of them goes you get some funny readings. There have been a couple here in Oz, incidently the furthest rearward exhaust sensor seems to play up the most, a couple have been replaced... But anyway, it sounds like the EGR sticking or one of those sensors to me, and the first place I would look. Cheers |

Sorry I figured with the other threads I made about the stuff I got done to the truck everyone probably read about it. But it's 2010 3500 miles. Spartan tuner 250 tune, 5 inch exhaust w/DPF delete, AFE stage 2 CAI.

Sorrry Jac,
I have too much going on at my end and did not associate with tuning etc... Does SPARTAN do an EGR Delete? I have a 210 Tow Performance on mine, and cannot remember... We have a fleet in R&D, and with almost all tuners from Quadzilla, SuperChips, SCT, Livewire, Edge, and now SPARTAN.... I have had two F-350s with different tuners, two Dodges ![]() , and two Silverados...![]() but am not back to soley the F-450...)I cannot remember if the SPARTAN has an EGR Delete. One of the Tuners I have played with had it in Delete mode except at an Idle where it worked until you got up some RPM so it still actuated and did not freeze up, but I cannot remember if that was Spartan or not. ?????

I believe it does have the egr delete.

Your EGR valve is sticking closed. The 250 tune still cycles at idle. Don't worry about P1000

Ok how do I fix that?

Have you reset the codes and see if they came back?

Already did that and only drove about 10 miles to my house. I will find out tomorrow cause I will put on 200 miles. Now if it does come back and it's the egr sticking how do I fix that? |

Either the valve will need to be replaced, or it can be cleaned. Most of the time the dealership will just replace them though.
What you can do first is load up the 175 tune and run the hell out of it. Get on the highway where you can keep flogging it over and over for a few miles. See if that will free it up. If not, you will need to go to the dealership. |
