The key will program but the remote might not. The 11 computer programs the remote when it programs the key. The 10 and down remotes program on board. If the fcc code is different it wont program for sure.

Wink

I think it can be done. If it were me trying to do this I would try to program the remote before I cut the key. If you can't get the remote to program at least you can resell the key.

Good point. Is the dealer the only place to get the remotes programed?

Ford remotes can be programmed onboard yourself.

Its what we call a remote head key. The fob is part of the key head. I don't like them. They are to bulky and cost double what they would if they were separate. I have a remote start alarm so I couldn't use it any way.
